Üçhisar Castle and the Village History: The Land Where Our Hotel Was Born

April 20, 2026 5 min read Uçhisar Palace in Cappadocia

Rising from the highest point in Cappadocia, Üçhisar Castle bears witness to millennia of history. Discover the story of the village that gave our hotel its name.

One of the highest points in Cappadocia, Üçhisar Castle is a massive rock formation that served as a watchtower for thousands of years. This historic village, which lends its name to our hotel, is one of the places that best lets guests feel the spirit of the region.

The Castle's Origins

Carved into volcanic tuff, Üçhisar Castle has been used for observation and defence since Byzantine times. Some of its rooms and tunnels can still be visited today, and climbing to the top rewards you with a 360-degree view of all Cappadocia.

The Village Today

The village of Üçhisar, shaped around the castle, remains a living settlement with stone houses, narrow streets and an authentic atmosphere. Our hotel was designed in respect of this stone texture, aiming to offer guests a genuinely authentic Cappadocian experience.

Visiting Tips

We recommend climbing the castle shortly before sunset — you'll avoid the crowds and catch the unique moment when the valley turns gold. When you return, the warm atmosphere of our Üçhisar Room awaits you.
